I always remember noticing the little rubber band powered propellor planes that were parked near the corner of PDX where you drive up. I always wondered what flying on one of these would be like.



Well, even though it was a rainy, gray day, we were supposed to wheel ourselves and our luggage out to the actual tarmac that the planes themselves land on.

I am geek enough that it excited me to truly stand on the runway.

It's good to get geeked about that shit!
I feel like I end up running across grease-stained runways about one in five flights!! Done it in Puerto Rico, in Grenada, Miami, London (more than once)...
It's like sitting right alongside the stock car race oval, you can smell burning acrid stenches which are probably on some level bad for your brain cells to be inhaling...and then there's that sense of excitement, like -- what if a plane mis-lands (real word??) right about now and crushes me...COOL!!
